Sweeper's Pass Earns a Draw

Posted Wednesday, July 21, 2010 by Matthew Neuner
Wednesday night Lance Wheatley showed why he is such an integral part of the SOCS team on offense and defense. Whether it is his calming influence over the defense, his determination to not get scored on again once Fulton took the lead or his moxy to track down a wayward ball in the offensive third and to turn it into an assist; Lance Wheatley proved a worthy recipient for man of the match honors. Coming back from a brief injury that took him out for part of the second half, Lance came back with a vengeance that propelled the Falcons to the equalizing goal just minutes from full time. Linking up well with Alex Glies, Jake Mir, Sean Abbott and Sam Carroll, Wheatley often started the Falcon offense, but had a hand in helping Matt Perry stop numerous Raider chances in the second half.
